Coaches and leaders, you are committed to and delight in unlocking others’ and organizations’ potential, prosperity and peace. Yet unlocking your own 3 P path sometimes feels uncertain. You might even get so weighed down with everything else on your plate that your own peace, prosperity and potential drop to the bottom of the list. Women are particularly at risk for putting themselves and their health last,* which impedes 3P progress.
We all deserve to reach our full potential, to be prosperous and live in peace, including our own peace of mind. That you share this belief and vision is clear from my 23 years as a leadership, team and mentor coach. Yet how do you achieve that in our VUCCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Culturally Complex and Ambiguous) world which erodes energy and confidence and nourishes self-doubt in even the most accomplished?
Meet Jane, my executive coaching client from years ago. Jane felt overworked, underpaid and depleted by her schedule when she first started coaching with me. Our coaching started after she took a vacation and got sick. When you have been consistently pushing too hard and not prioritizing yourself, it can result in illness.
That little voice in the back of her head that she could be more (potential) and have more (peace and prosperity) had become too loud to ignore. (Listen to that voice in the back of your head!) Her organization was at risk for losing a valuable leader; a costly talent loss. She noticed she was starting to become a little irritable, which was impacting the peace of her executive team.
Jane had neglected her own potential, and it was severely negatively impacting her prosperity and peace of mind. Through our coaching, she clarified and followed her vision and values and then took control of her schedule, she regained her peace of mind and energy. She asked for and received a raise, increasing her prosperity. Living your life and leading your business or department aligned with vision and values is energizing in a contagious way! (Of course we explore alignment of the leader’s vision and values with the organization’s.)
Her organization kept a valuable leader rather than experiencing a costly talent loss, positively impacting its prosperity. Jane refers other leaders to me for coaching and reports that her getting clearer about vision and values through our coaching has made decision making easier throughout the years. A sustainable impact. “A vision come true.”
